New Mexico Rush Soccer Club is extremely excited to announce the hiring of Edgar Davila as its new U13-U15 Director of Coaching. Coach Davila grew up playing his youth soccer with New Mexico Rush Soccer Club. Edgar was a 7-time State Champion as a member of the NM Rush 95B and was a key player in all seven USYS Far West Regional Championships events.
Upon graduating from NM Rush Soccer Club, Edgar continued his academic and athletic career at Eastern New Mexico University (NM) and Lincoln College (IL). Coach Davila also has MASL2 and USL2 playing experience captaining the Albuquerque Sol during the 2018 and 2019 seasons and led the team to its first ever Golden Rattler Trophy in the club’s seven year history.
Coach Davila brings a wealth of on field playing experience and practical coaching experience to the club having previously coached for NM Rush during the 2015-19 seasons. He is also bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish.
NM Rush Technical Director, Justin Sells stated, I was fortunate to coach Edgar at the youth and USL2 level. He has always been a tireless worker, leader and winner at every level of play. He was a great teammate and understands the game at a very high level. I anticipate Edgar having tremendous success as a youth coach and I believe he will make an immediate impact with all our players and coaches.”
