‘04 Miami Rush Kendall Rush SC Player Nico Villalobos Gets Taste of Pro Team HB Koge

NICO-HB-KOGE

Nico Villalobos, an ‘04 player from Miami Rush Kendall SC, had the opportunity to train with Danish club HB Køge in September this year. This was a learning experience for Nico and from it he was inspired to produce new goals for himself as a soccer player.

“He saw the difference in the training and commitment in Denmark. The intensity and dedication of the players was at such a high level. Nico was really impressed with the way things were and what it takes to try to become a pro. He realized the way pros see the game is so different than in the States and the academy he currently plays at in Miami,” his father William Villalobos said.

William is one of the coaches at the Academy at Miami Rush Kendall SC and he was impressed by the atmosphere of Nico’s first division team engagement.

“The coaches were at a high level in everything they did,” he recalls.

He also mentioned that the atmosphere was very professional and he and Nico’s accommodations were high class:

“We were able to see one of the games as well and be invited to VIP, and the experience was top level. It was great!”

Nico’s favorite experience on the trip was playing alongside a former teammate, Diego Aires, who had recently signed to HB Køge and have the opportunity to talk about his experience there.

“This experience really opened his mind to what is possible,” his father stated. “My advice to him as he thinks about his professional goals is to just take it day by day.”

Nico, who has been at Miami Rush Kendall SC for the past four years, is motivated to reach the level that he experienced in Denmark. He is thankful for the opportunity and impressed by the respect he was shown from the coaches and players in Denmark.

“The invitation was so awesome and I was glad to be able to take advantage of the opportunity. I just want to express the importance of following your goals and taking those opportunities for all my fellow Rush Soccer mates across the country too,” Nico finishes.

The Capelli Sport connection with George Altirs as the majority owner at HB Køge is proving to give Rush Soccer’s male players great professional experiences and opportunities within the Rush Pathway. HB Køge is a professional Danish football club that competes in the Danish first division. Rush Soccer is excited to continue to see the relationship with HB Køge grow and develop.
